February 22 marked a monumental occasion as the beloved Van Zandt County resident, Shirley Fuller, celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends. A vibrant figure in the community, Shirley has made a remarkable impact over the years, not only as a devoted mother and grandmother but also as a noteworthy contributor to local history through her writing.

VZC residents voice opposition to battery energy storage facilities

‘Smart 911’ system now available

Van Zandt County Fire Marshal Kevin Palmer is encouraging citizens in VZC to sign up for the new ‘Smart 911’ system. “This system allows the VZC Fire Marshals Office (VZCFMO) and the VZC Emergency Management Office to send emergency notifications directly to your phone and/or e-mail,” emphasized Palmer.
