Candidates in the May 3 Van Zandt County city and school elections are reminded to turn in their Candidate Questionnaires and photos to the offi ce of in Canton by 3 p.m. Friday, April 4.

A combined operation between the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team, DEA, HSI (Homeland Security Investigations), along with Hunt County Deputies shut down a major illegal drug operation in Van Zandt County.

ANDY REESE Van Zandt County Judge Van Zandt County experienced significant tree damage from May and June storms last year, downing many trees throughout the county. Road and bridge crews worked to get the trees removed from the roads, tossing them into the ditches to clear the roads for traffic.
