Canton ISD releases letter following bus accident

Canton ISD released a letter from Canton ISD Superintendent Brian Nichols that was sent to parents following a March 5 accident involving a school district bus. “We want to inform you of an incident involving one of our school buses that occurred earlier today (March 5) on Highway 64,” said Nichols in the letter.

Student Success Series event planned for local students

Students in the graduating classes of 2026 and 2027 can sign up to participate in this year’s Engage program offered through Texas Farm Bureau’s (TFB) Student Success Series. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said March 3 that state sales tax revenue totaled $3.8 billion in February, 4.3 percent more than in February 2024. The majority of February sales tax revenue is based on sales made in January and remitted to the agency in February.

Bond election totaling $34.75 million set for May in GSISD
