Grand Saline’s own Billy York was announced as an honorable mention for the 2026 State Fair of Texas Arts and Crafts competition out of 8,400 entries for his black and white photograph that was taken at the Grand Saline Roundup Rodeo Club Rodeo earlier this summer.

A retired former Kaufman County Judge was chosen to oversee the appeal of Kar- melo Anthony for his recent murder conviction. Visiting Judge Sid Harle recused Collin County District Judge John Roach, who oversaw Anthony’s murder trial in June 2026.
