Spring Break schedule released by Van Zandt County/Sarah Norman Library

The Van Zandt County/Sarah Norman Library, located at 317 First Monday Lane (FM 859) in Canton, has released its Spring Break schedule for the time period of March 11-21 for all Van Zandt County school district schedules and it will be as follows: Tuesday, March 11, and Tuesday, March 18: Garden Day, noon to 5 p.m. Making Recycled Bottle Planters and Seed Bombs. Walk in anytime between noon and 4:30 p.m. All ages are welcome.

Bond election totaling $34.75 million set for May in GSISD

The Grand Saline School Board recently called for a $34.75 million bond election to take place on May 3 to build a new Grand Saline Middle School campus. According to Grand Saline ISD Superintendent Micah Lewis, Early Voting is scheduled to begin April 22 and conclude on April 29.

An arson investigation in the Rolling Oaks community has led to the arrest of a woman, according to Van Zandt County Fire Marshal Kevin Palmer. Palmer said that a firefighter was dispatched to the Rolling Oaks area for a structure fire on Feb.

A vibrant figure in the community, Shirley has made a remarkable impact over the years, not only as a devoted mother and grandmother but also as a noteworthy contributor to local history through her writing.
