A lot of things did not go in favor of the Van Vandals before and during their regular season finale Nov. 3 at home against the Bullard Panthers.

Van defensive coordinator Jaren Rainey was not in attendance for the game due to an emergency appendectomy earlier in the week.

Regular season coming to a close for VZC football teams

Sports Correspondent At least two and as many as four Van Zandt County varsity football teams could be competing in the upcoming state football playoffs later this week as their regular season schedules came to a close Nov. 3.
The Wills Point Tigers (dark uniforms) will be competing in the Class 4A, Division 2, state playoffs for the first time since 2019 after their 39-29 ‘Senior Night’ victory over the visiting Quinlan Ford Panthers. Stretch run for potential football playoff positions continues

While the Van Vandals have already clinched their berth for the upcoming state football playoffs, four other schools are trying to punch their tickets as well, but it will be more than likely that those playoff hopes won’t be finalized until after the final regular season game is played Friday, Nov. 3.
Following an emotional ‘Senior Night’victory over the Brownsboro Bears Oct. 20, the Canton Eagles listened to the playing of the school song. Among those standing at attention were Logan Faglie (4), Mike Vasquez (61), Collin Campuzano (20), and Noe Mendieta (7).
