Coming off a 22-3 overall record, a District 16-4A championship with a 9-1 mark, and a Class 4A Bi-District title, the Van Lady Vandals, under second year Head Coach Kay Bachert, are looking for another strong performance during the 2023-24 varsity basketball season.

Asher, Battle leading Tigers this season

Through three games this season, the Wills Point Tiger varsity boys’ basketball team holds a 1-2 record as they have defeated Paris North Lamar, 56-40, and lost to North Hopkins, 48-38, and Dallas Life Oak Cliff, 50-45.

District 9-3A, Division 2, All-District Football Team released

The Edgewood Bulldogs and the Grand Saline Indians were well represented on the District 9-3A, Division 2, All-District Football Team recently released. One of the ‘Superlative’ awards was given to Grand Saline sophomore quarterback Jett Taylor, who was named as the district’s ‘Offensive Newcomer’ of the season.

Vandals end season with Area championship loss to Aubrey

Hopes of moving on to the regional semifinal round of the Class 4A, Division 2, state football playoffs came to an end for the Van Vandals Nov. 17 as they lost to the Aubrey Chapparals, 35-14, in the Area Championship game at Royse City.
