District play underway for some VZC teams

For four out of the six Van Zandt County football teams, the race is on in the battle for district championships as two major VZC battles were played Sept. 29.

Eaglettes’ golf team capture Whitestone Invitational

The Canton Eaglettes’ golf team competed Sept. 26 at the Whitestone Invitational at the Whitestone Golf Club in Benbrook and came home in first place by 40 shots over several Dallas-Fort Worth schools including Stephenville, Abilene High and Benbrook.

VZC teams go 6-0 in Week 4 as district play gets underway

davidb@vanzandtnews.com It was a long time coming but all six Van Zandt County football teams had something in common after Week 4 of regular season action as all were victorious. Some of the VZC teams opened district play Sept.
