After leading by only four points at halftime, the Van Lady Vandals came through with a strong second half performance Feb. 13 to outlast Sulphur Springs, 54-43, in the Class 4A bi-district girls’ basketball playoff game.

A comeback effort fell short Feb. 6 for the Van Lady Vandals in their regular season finale as they lost to their district and Van Zandt County rival, the Canton Eaglettes, 50-40, in Canton.

The Van Vandal boys’ soccer team captured their biggest win in district play Feb. 6 as they defeated previously undefeated Athens at home, 2-1.
