The Republican Club of Van Zandt County (RCVZC) is inviting the Christian community across East Texas to attend a Town Hall meeting focused on faith, government, and what organizers describe as growing ideological threats facing the nation.

During its 99th annual convention held April 9-11 in Pilot Point, the North and East Texas Press Association (NETPA) recognized Van Zandt Newspapers L.L.C. with a number of awards.

The Old Bethel Cemetery Associational Meeting will be held on Saturday, May 16, at the Old Bethel Missionary Baptist Church located at 103 VZCR 2313 in Canton. The business meeting begins at 10:30 a.m.

The 10th Annual Van Freedom Boom, celebrating America’s 250th birthday, continues to be in the planning stages. The event will be held from 6-10 p.m.

The Van Zandt County Veterans Memorial Board of Directors recently released information about the 2026 Memorial Day Program scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, May 25, at the VZC Veterans Memorial, located at the intersection of State Highways 19 and 243 in Canton.
