Vandals outlast Brownsboro to open district play at home Sept. 23, 41-21

Breaking a two-game losing streak, the Van Vandals could not have picked a better time to get back in the win column as they broke open a tight game at halftime and raced past the Brownsboro Bears, 41-21, in the District 8-4A, Division 2, opener for both teams Sept. 23 at Van’s Memorial Stadium.

Emergency declaration for storm repairs approved

Beekeeping a lifelong dream for Canton resident

davidb@vanzandtnews.com For Ernie McCoulskey of Canton, the thought of becoming a beekeeper did not come overnight. “I first got the bug about these bees when I was seven or eight years old,” said the 65-year old beekeeper.

First Baptist to host marriage conference

First Baptist Church of Canton will host the Resist the Drift marriage conference from Focus on the Family. “Many couples have a good marriage but often feel they’re drifting apart,” Pastor Mike Roberson says. “Resist the Drift helps couples recognize those areas where they feel disconnected and then gives them action steps to rebuild the connection and strengthen their marriage.”
