Two teams with identical season records who have never met before on the football field will do battle to see who will advance in the Class 4A, Division 2, state playoffs as the Van Vandals will take on the Aubrey Chapparals in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff Friday, Nov. 17 in the Area round championship game to be played at Royse City.

A lot of things did not go in favor of the Van Vandals before and during their regular season finale Nov. 3 at home against the Bullard Panthers.
Van defensive coordinator Jaren Rainey was not in attendance for the game due to an emergency appendectomy earlier in the week.
