Weather forecast forced changes in VZC football schedules

davidb@vanzandtnews.com Mother Nature played a role in the Friday, Oct. 24 scheduling for all Van Zandt County football teams as the varsity games were played Thursday, Oct. 23, as heavy rain and lightning was expected to move into the area.

VZC rivalry games highlight recent district football action

The Edgewood Bulldogs took the upper hand in the race for the District 9-3A, Division 2, championship as they outlasted the Grand Saline Indians, 45-28, in Grand Saline Oct.

Edgewood competes in district cross-country meet

Ty Rotan led our team placing fifth with a time of 17:39 in the 15-3A district meet held at Quitman. He is a four-time regional qualifier, and he will run on Monday, Oct.

District play continues for VZC varsity football teams

davidb@vanzandtnews.com Contenders and pretenders will begin to separate themselves now that the battle for district championships and playoff positioning will be taking shape over the next month or so, Two Van Zandt County varsity football teams, the Edgewood Bulldogs and the Grand Saline Indians have started their district competition while the Van Vandals, the Canton Eagles, and the Wills Point Tigers started their run for potential district titles and post-season berths this past week.
