VZC teams win four out of six opening night matchups

Body davidb@vanzandtnews.com The 2025 varsity football season in Van Zandt County kicked off the regular season Aug. 29 with four out of six teams victorious.

Van Vandal senior running back Da’Quavion Williams runs for first down yardage down the sideline Aug. 29 against Dallas Carter. Williams rushed for 162 yards on 16 carries and three touchdowns in Van’s 38-35 victory. Body The Wills Point Varsity Cross Country teams competed Aug. 28 in Midlothian. Both teams placed 3rd place with six medalists. Eduardo Gonzalez was the 4A and under Champion. Also medaling for the boys was Gio Benitez and Victor Torres.
