Local man transferred to Texas prison

AVan Zandt County man was transferred to a Texas prison last Friday after he pled guilty to a cruelty to animals’ charge at a Wills Point property. James Henry Eubanks was sentenced to six years in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TCDJ) system penitentiary when he pled guilty to Cruelty to Non-Livestock Animals, a third-degree felony, according to the SPCA of Texas.

Bridge demolition set for Sept. 7-8

The demolition of the old bridge at the intersection of Interstate 20 and FM 859 in Canton is still on schedule for the weekend of Sept. 7 and Sept. 8, according to Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Tyler District Public Information Officer Jeff Williford.

Pearson, Phillips preparing for smooth transition in VZC Pct. 3
