Early Voting ends as Election Day voting takes place Tuesday, Nov. 7

Over 2,600 Early Votes have been cast as of the end of the business day Nov. 1 for the Nov. 7 General Election, according to the Van Zandt County Clerk’s office. The day-by-day breakdown since Early Voting began has been as follows: Oct. 23, 248 votes cast; Oct. 24, 305; Oct. 25, 338; Oct. 26, 298; Oct. 27, 407; Oct. 30, 338: Oct. 31, 321; and Nov. 1, 348. The total number of votes cast as of the end of the day Nov. 1 was 2,603.

Tierra Prunty, having been diagnosed with breast Cancer in 2020, was a challenge in itself, but having it during a COVID epidemic made it even more challenging. There wasn’t anyone in the waiting room, holding her hand and no one was therewhen she got out of surgery.
Tierra Prunty of Canton has been battling breast cancer since 2020. She credits her husband, Steve, and her children for helping her face daily challenges throughout her cancer. Prunty has been in remission for a year and a half now. Couresy photo

Purchase of radio units approved by court
