‘Operation Christmas Child’ underway in VZC

Since 1993, Van Zandt County residents have been a part of ‘Operation Christmas Child,’ a project of Samaritan’s Purse that shares the true meaning of Christmas with children in need around the world.

SPCA receives custody of animals from two properties

During a civil custody hearing Nov. 1 at the Van Zandt County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Courthouse in Ben Wheeler, VZC Pct. 4 JP Scott Shinn awarded the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) of Texas custody of 17 dogs and one cat seized from a VZC property on Oct. 26.

Top hay producers recognized

Twelve hay producers in Van Zandt County were recognized for their efforts Nov. 2 during the annual VZC Hay Evaluation Clinic and Auction at the VZC Farm Bureau building in Canton.
