Bronze plaque dedicated at courthouse
Agood crowd was on hand for an outdoor ceremony on the north side steps of the Van Zandt County Courthouse April 12 for a dedication ceremony and unveiling of a bronze plaque commemorating the historic ‘Victory or Death’ letter authorized by William Barret Travis at The Alamo in 1836.
Johnson recognized for 20 years of service
During their regular monthly meeting April 11, the Van City Council recognized City of Van Public Works Director Kevin Johnson for his 20 years of service to the city. A ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ plaque was presented to Johnson by Van Mayor Tammy Huff.

Tammy Huff, 50, and her husband, David, have three children: Abigail Perry, Noah Huff, and Levi Huff. Huff is a college graduate and is a Van ISD teacher.
