Vandals lone remaining VZC team in playoffs

After two weeks of post-season action, only one VZC team remains in the hunt as Coach Jared Moffatt’s Van Vandals have advanced to the Class 4A, Division 2, Regional Semifinals.

The defending Class 2A basketball state champion Martins Mill Lady Mustangs are off to another strong start in the 2024-25 basketball season as they captured first place in the first annual Martins Mill Jerry Daniel Basketball Invitational Tournament Nov. 21-23.
Alli Vaughan of the Martins Mill Lady Mustangs was named to the All-Tournament Team Nov. 23 in the first annual Jerry Daniel Basketball Invitational Tournament.

VZ County launches spay, neuter initiative

In a significant move to address pet overpopulation and promote responsible pet ownership, Van Zandt County has entered into a new contract with the Animal Protection League (APL). This initiative aims to provide financial assistance for spay and neuter services for residents in select zip codes.
