VZC Fire Marshal Sean Davis announces resignation

Before announcing that the burn ban in Van Zandt County was being lifted, VZC Fire Marshal had another announcement to make to the VZC Commissioners Court during its regular meeting Nov. 6.

Sean Davis announced his resignation as Van Zandt County Fire Marshal Nov. 6 during the regular meeting of the VZC Commissioners Court. His resignation will become effective in January 2025. VZC Republicans dominate General Election results

Following the lead of results nationwide Nov. 5 during the General Election, Republicans in Van Zandt County made a strong showing as final voting results were released by the VZC Clerk’s office.

Velazquez competes at State Meet

Kevin Velazquez of Canton concluded his cross-country season at the State Meet in Round Rock on Friday, Nov. 1. He finished 26th in a field of 152 runners with a time of 16:34. “I’m super proud of all the hard work, miles, and hours that Kevin has poured into running,” said Canton Head Cross Country Coach Marta Morgan. “He is a team leader and will be greatly missed next year. Thank you to everyone who has supported him and the program this season.”
