sports@vanzandtnews.com The Edgewood Lady Dogs made it look easy on Tuesday night, blitzing an overmatched Lindale squad both offensively and defensively to take a convincing 48-23 win. Kassidy Paul helped to shoulder the load offensively for the Lady Dogs, finishing with a game-high 15 points in the win.

The Wills Point Tiger tennis program has announced that it will be hosting its second annual Holiday Courts event Dec. 16 at the high school.

With winning percentages of 70 each, Glenn McNeill Jr. of Wills Point and Dale Beard of Murchison are the co-winners of Football Contest No.

Van High School Tennis Coach Cortland Davidson was recently named as Region II Tennis Coach of the Year. Davidson led the Vandal tennis program to a bi-district title this season, and the program finished the fall ranked 17th overall among all 4A teams according to the Texas Tennis Coaches Association.

Van Zandt County football teams that qualified for this year’s playoffs had their hands full last week, taking on a slate of talented opponents in bi-district round action. Despite a solid effort across the board Edgewood, Grand Saline and Van all came up short, officially closing the books on the 2022 season for county teams.
