The Van Zandt County/Sarah Norman Library in Canton has announced that it will be hosting a book fair and silent auction May 2-5. The book fair hours will be as follows: -Tuesday, May 2, and Wednesday, May 3: 9 a.m.

The Van Zandt County Republican Club will be sponsoring a candidate forum for all school board candidates in Van Zandt County beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, April 24.

“I was born an Edgewood Bulldog, graduated in 1994, and have spent my life representing and promoting our wonderful school and community.” said Jody McPherson, 46. “Brandi and I have lived here for almost 20 years now, and we have enjoyed raising our children in a place that values education and supports the school district.

Stacy Duff Shaw, 51, and her husband, Billy, have eight children; Dustin, Derrick, Dakota, Chelsey, Stone, Nathan, Jameria, and Kinley. She is employed as an OTR driver for BRS Enterprises L.L.C.

Susan Spoor, 61, and her husband, Mike, have two children, Clayton and Candace. Spoor is retired.

Judy Steadham, 72, and her husband, Steve, have two children, Stacey Ellis and Dr. Kyle Steadham.

David Cox has one grown child, Haley, 26, and one grandson. He is self-employed.

Ridge Tardy, 30, and his wife, Crystal, have five children: Coby, Cooper, Chloe, Cambree, and Creed. He is employed at Grand Saline ISD where he serves as Child Nutrition Director.

Brandi Morris, 49, and her husband, Glen, have two children, Tyler and Evie. She works for the Grand Saline ISD Maintenance and Transportation Department.

Todd Kempton, 54, and his wife, Kenna, have two children, Brittney and Brayden. He currently serves as the Van Church of Christ minister.
