WPISD adopts four-day instructional week

Wills Point ISD has largely been on an island by itself when it comes to producing and adopting an instructional calendar, maintaining a practice of early release days each Stemmingfromtheuncertainty brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, the move initially allowed for campuses to be deep cleaned without the large on-campus presence midweek while also providing a mental health break for both students and staffers.

Election sign damage under investigation

A candidate running for a position on the Edgewood ISD School Board was the victim of vandalism last week after a large campaign sign in the city was damaged ahead of the upcoming May election. Stacy Duff Shaw, who is the running for Place 7 on the Edgewood ISD Board of Trustees, called the development “disappointing” while adding that candidates and elected officials volunteer their time to make the community a better place to live.
