GS Indians pummel Paris Chisum, 8-0

After a slow start by both squads, Grand Saline scored a run in the third inning and two more in the fourth to seize a 3-0 lead.

The Edgewood Lady Dogs hit a roadblock in District 12- 3A play last week, falling victim to a late Paris Chisum surge would be competitive throughout much of the opening innings as Edgewood and Paris Chisum each enjoyed a two-run inning to keep the score tied heading into the fifth.

Stalemate continues on proposed salary increases

For the second time in a two-week period, the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court took no action on a request for increased salaries covering 29 positions in the VZC Sheriff’s Department. After appearing before the commissioners’ court March 15, VZC Sheriff Joe Carter returned to make the same request March 29.
