Have you noticed signs or blue pinwheels around the county informing the public about child abuse this month? That is because April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. Van Zandt has a board of members from most towns in the county comprised of different ethnicities, genders, socioeconomic status, and races.

There were 103 exhibitors that qualified to sell their projects at the Junior Livestock Auction on Friday, March 31 during the county fair. The Fruitvale FFA will be hosting their annual FFA Banquet and Fundraiser Auction beginning at 6 p.m. May 5 at the Fruitvale cafeteria located at 244 VZC 1910.

The Van Zandt County/Sarah Norman Library in Canton has announced that it will be hosting a book fair and silent auction May 2-5. The book fair hours will be as follows: -Tuesday, May 2, and Wednesday, May 3: 9 a.m.

The Van Zandt County Republican Club will be sponsoring a candidate forum for all school board candidates in Van Zandt County beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, April 24.
