The results from Van Zandt County in the Texas House District 2 race printed in last week’s issue was incorrect: In VZC, Jill Dutton received 3,360 votes (35.7 percent) and Brent Money received 3,267 votes (34.76 percent).

The date of the annual pie auction at Wallace Methodist Church printed in last week’s issue was incorrect. The correct date is Saturday, Nov.

According to the Van Zandt County Clerk’s office, the date for the runoff election in the Texas House District 2 race between Republicans Brent Money of Greenville and Jill Dutton of Van will not take place on Dec. 9 and will be moved to an undetermined later date.

The Carter BloodCare bus will be in Canton for two stops during the month of December. The first blood drive will take place from 2-6 p.m.

A Van Middle School teacher and a fifth-grade student were recognized individually for their efforts by the Van School Board during its regular monthly meeting Nov. 13 as both received ‘Vantastic’ awards.
