Runoff election date for Money, Dutton to be changed

According to the Van Zandt County Clerk’s office, the date for the runoff election in the Texas House District 2 race between Republicans Brent Money of Greenville and Jill Dutton of Van will not take place on Dec. 9 and will be moved to an undetermined later date.

Tiger football season ends in heartbreaking fashion, 27-20

Leading 20-13 heading into the fourth quarter, the Wills Point Tigers were outscored 14-0 in the final 12 minutes of action Nov. 10 in Plano as they saw their 2023 varsity football season come to a close with a tough 27-20 loss to Van Alstyne in the Class 4A, Division 2 Bi-district football playoff game.

A near-perfect performance offensively for the Van Vandals was too much for the Spring Hill Panthers to overcome Nov. 10 in Tyler as Van advanced to the Area round of the Class 4A, Division 2, state football plays with a 63-34 victory.
