The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Neches River Chapter in Van Zandt County will be hosting ‘Bells Across America’ as VZC will be honoring the United States Constitution. The program is scheduled for 2:45 p.m.

Local man transferred to Texas prison

AVan Zandt County man was transferred to a Texas prison last Friday after he pled guilty to a cruelty to animals’ charge at a Wills Point property. James Henry Eubanks was sentenced to six years in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TCDJ) system penitentiary when he pled guilty to Cruelty to Non-Livestock Animals, a third-degree felony, according to the SPCA of Texas.

A graveside service to honor his life was held on Wednesday, September 3, 2024, at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point, the service was under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.
