Grand Saline would put together a dominant effort offensively in the game, racing out to an early lead and never looking back in a 15-5 rout.

Wills Point High School standout student-athlete Cole Roberts was joined by his family, friends and WPISD faculty as he signed his letter of intent with Northeast Texas Community College. Roberts, who also excelled as a member of the Tiger football team, will spend his next two years competing as a student-athlete on the NTCC Rodeo Team.

Lady Dogs double up Lone Oak, 8-4

The Edgewood Lady Dogs hit the road March 17, traveling to Lone Oak to take on the Lady Buffaloes in a matchup of District 12-3A foes. Edgewood would seize control of the contest, plating five runs in the first two innings on their way to an 8-4 win.

Eaglettes open district play

The Canton Eaglettes improved upon their already stellar 15-4 record this week, winning both scheduled contests to improve to 17-4. Canton would open the week with a Wednesday matinee on the road against Henderson.
