William Bennett, 54, Wills Point, Intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury.

Christopher Crutcher, 37, Edgewood, Violation of a bond or protective order.

Cecil Huff , 53, Van, Failure to comply with sex offenders’ duty to register for life/ annually.

Mark Morris, 59, Canton, Assault causing bodily injury of a family member.

WP Community Angel Tree program underway

The Wills Point Community Angel Tree (WPCAT) is a community- wide, annual donation program that provides Christmas gifts for children in families facing financial hardship during the holiday season. This year, the goal of WPCAT is to make sure that each child (from newborns to high school seniors) receives two new outfits with shoes and a coat, and that each family receives a bag of food and a turkey.

Before announcing that the burn ban in Van Zandt County was being lifted, VZC Fire Marshal had another announcement to make to the VZC Commissioners Court during its regular meeting Nov. 6.
Sean Davis announced his resignation as Van Zandt County Fire Marshal Nov. 6 during the regular meeting of the VZC Commissioners Court. His resignation will become effective in January 2025. Burn ban lifted in Van Zandt County

After recommending a 60day burn ban which was approved by the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court Oct. 23, VZC Fire Marshal Sean Davis informed the commissioners’ court during its regular meeting Nov. 6 that the burn ban has been lifted.
