State Railroad Commissioner to speak Nov. 24

Sheriff’s office investigating burglary of business

Body According to the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, at approximately 5:22 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, deputies with the VZC Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported burglary at Scott’s Grocery, located at 30707 State Highway 64 in Myrtle Springs.

Body The Van Zandt County Genealogy Society will meet at noon Saturday, Nov. 22 in the Buchanan Room of the VZC/Sarah Norman Library located at 317 First Monday Lane (FM 859) in Canton for a Potluck lunch and ‘Show and Tell’ story time.

TxDot announce project updates for VZC

Body Canton crews are scheduled to mill and inlay on SH 64 between FM 1504 and US 80. Crews will then move to FM 751. Work will be done from FM 47 to the Hunt County line. Motorists should expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic.
