Drop in gas prices reported across Texas

Average gasoline prices in Texas have fallen 8.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.17/g Oct. 24, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Prices in Texas are 7.0 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 13.8 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has risen 4.0 cents in the last week and stands at $5.30 per gallon.

All Early Voting for the Nov. 8 General Election in Van Zandt County will take place at the Sarah Norman/VZC Library (317 First Monday Lane) on FM 859 near State Highway 64 in Canton.

Victims identified in two-vehicle accident

Traffic along Highway 64 just west of Canton was brought to a stop during the afternoon hours Oct. 18 following a two-vehicle accident that ultimately resulted in two reported fatalities.
