Tax rate approved by Van trustees

A tax rate that includes an 18.54 cent decrease was approved by the Van School Board in a 4-0 vote Aug. 21 during the regular monthly meeting of the Van School Board. Trustees Shannon Johnson and Scott Thomas were not in attendance.

There will be two Carter BloodCare events during the month of September in Canton. One will be held at the Walmart Supercenter, located at 603 East Highway 243, from 2-6 p.m.

Winter Pasture Program set for Aug. 29

The Extension Livestock/Forage Committee from Van Zandt County will be sponsoring a Winter Pasture Program at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the VZC Farm Bureau building, located at 220 Burnett Trail, in Canton.
