Come immerse yourself in county history! Join the Van Zandt County Genealogical Society as it tours the Heritage Park Museum of East Texas in Edgewood beginning at noon Saturday, Oct. 21.

According to the Van Zandt County Clerk’s office, the deadline to register to vote for the upcoming Nov. 7 General Election is Tuesday, Oct.

Dan Tarno is the husband of Cindy Tarno. He is the pastor of Grace Bible Fellowship Baptist Church in Canton.

Cindy Tarno of Canton shares her cancer story Cindy Tarno has lived in Canton for 40 years and was sent here by God, and her husband, Dan Tarno, was called to pastor a church, Walnut Springs Bible Baptist Church, and is now the pastor of Grace Bible Fellowship Baptist Church. Cindy is an advocate of mammograms but hated to admit that she let life happen and did not have a mammogram in about three years.

Melody Tarno-Thompson, the daughter of Cindy Tarno, was out of town when she received the devastating news that her mom had breast cancer. So far away, Melody shared that she sat on the floor and cried.
