Runoff election date for Money, Dutton to be changed

According to the Van Zandt County Clerk’s office, the date for the runoff election in the Texas House District 2 race between Republicans Brent Money of Greenville and Jill Dutton of Van will not take place on Dec. 9 and will be moved to an undetermined later date.

SPCA receives custody of animals from two properties

During a civil custody hearing Nov. 1 at the Van Zandt County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Courthouse in Ben Wheeler, VZC Pct. 4 JP Scott Shinn awarded the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) of Texas custody of 17 dogs and one cat seized from a VZC property on Oct. 26.

Top hay producers recognized
