Three to compete at State Cross Country Meet

Runners representing Canton and Wills Point made their way west on Monday, looking to qualify for the Class 4A State Meet by racing at the Region II Meet. Canton was the top finisher among local varsity girls programs, finishing 12 th overall with 334 total points while Wills Point finished 21st with 515 points.

The Canton Eaglettes entered the final week of the regular season with a unique opportunity, taking on the two teams currently above them in the standings with a chance to claim at least a share of this year’s District 14-4A title firmly in play.

Athletes representing Fruitvale, Campbell, Miller Grove, Dodd City, Ector, Pioneer Tech and Savoy traveled to Cumby Oct. 13 for this year’s District 23-1A Meet.
