James Michael Whitaker, 61, of Wills Point, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021.

James was born on August 3, 1960, in Bethany, Missouri, to the late James Roland Whitaker and Beverly Jean Whitaker. He was raised in Copperas Cove, Texas. James moved from Denver, Colorado, to Wills Point 21 years ago. He was of the Methodist faith. James worked for Coors Brewing Company in Golden, Colorado, and Walmart Distribution Center in Terrell, Texas, and Grantsville, Utah. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with his best friend, Scotty Roberts, spending time with his grandchildren, going to Sturgis, South Dakota, with his brothers and spending time with Kristi.

James is survived by his wife, Kristi Elaine Whitaker of Wills Point; son, Daniel James Whitaker of Wills Point; daughters, Kathryn Lee Whitaker of Thornton, Colorado; Rebecca “Reba” Joy Pruner and husband David of Wills Point; stepdaughters, Skyler SueAnn Buteaux and husband Dex, Ashley Blaine LaCaze and husband Randy, Chelsee Shane Bayless and husband, Dillon; brothers, Jerry Lee Whitaker and wife Jane of Edgewood and Nelson Craig Whitaker and wife Annie of Wills Point; sister, Jamie Lynn Brown and husband Craig of Mckinney; grandchildren, Kyra Joy Clingan, Rylee James Velez, Noelle Altamirano, Charlie Velez, Nadine Pruner, Liam Pruner, Brinley Bayless, Dillon Bayless, Nolan LaCaze and Kain Clingan and mother-in-law, Vonnie Lou Hanner.

James was preceded in death by his parents.
