1926-2023

Georgia Katherine (Stanfield) Bilyeu passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at the age of 97 in Van. She was born on January 12, 1926, in Leonard to parents George Edward Stanfield and Tinny Alice (Kennedy) Stanfield. She married Marcellas Howard Bilyeu in 1942. Georgia enjoyed working in her garden and reading her books. She is survived by her sons, Howard Bilyeu of Ben Wheeler; son, James Bilyeu and his wife, Debbie, of Ben Wheeler; grandchildren, Bryan Bilyeu, Robin Reeves, Rachel Cantwell, Sheila Hanson; her 10 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Marcellas Bilyeu who passed away October 24, 2002, daughter-in-law Darla Bilyeu and her siblings, Bobbie Andrews, Billie Nicholson and Louis Stanfield. A visitation was held at Turrentine Jackson Morrow in Leonard on Saturday, August 5, 2023. The funeral service was held at noon at the funeral home with Bro. C.R. Chapman officiating the service.
