VZC/Sarah Norman Library hosts Aviation Allies exhibit

‘Aviation Allies: The Royal Air Force in Terrell’ is the title of a traveling exhibit now on view at the Van Zandt County/Sarah Norman Library in Canton through the month of August. The exhibit tells the story of the partnership between the United Kingdom and the United States to train hundreds of British pilots in North Texas before and during World War II.

Fire prevention conference set for Aug. 22

The office of Texas District 2 State Senator Bob Hall recently filed four proposed bills during the current Special Session of the Texas Legislature. The topics of the bills dealt with the subjects of District Notification, Five Percent Threshold, Landowner Liability, and Eminent Domain and are described by Hall’s office as follows: Senate Bill 57: District Notification The Problem: Recently, corporate entities attempted to exploit the natural resources of the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer.

Temporary Restraining Order extended to Aug. 29

According to Van Zandt County Criminal District Attorney Tonda Curry, the Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against the developers of a lithium battery storage facility being built south of Canton has been extended through Friday, Aug. 29 by VZC District Judge Chris Martin of the 294th Judicial District.
