In a 3-2 vote Dec. 21 by the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court during the court’s final regular meeting of 2022, the court decided to withhold VZC funding temporarily for the Ben Wheeler Fire Department.

Plans are being finalized for the swearing-in ceremony for 16 Van Zandt County elected officials to begin the new year of 2023. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 2 p.m.
