VZC Child Welfare Board provides update

The Van Zandt County Child Welfare Board works hard for around 100 foster children in VZC. They provide allowances, clothing, birthdays, peewee sports fees, college tuition, rehabilitative equipment for injuries, Christmas presents, and other expenses.

City of Van preparing for eclipse event in April

With the anticipated partial and total solar eclipse event scheduled to be viewed in Van Zandt County and surrounding areas just three months away, the City of Van has announced plans to celebrate during the weekend of Friday, April 5 through Monday, April 8 at McMillan Park. The actual day of the eclipse is scheduled for the afternoon hours of Monday, April 8.

Plans for plaque shared at meeting

davidb@vanzandtnews.com During their first regular meeting of 2024 held Jan. 3, the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court approved tentative plans for placement of a bronze plaque featuring William Travis’ ‘Victory or Death’ letter to be displayed at the VZC Courthouse.
