Cindy Tarno of Canton shares her cancer story Cindy Tarno has lived in Canton for 40 years and was sent here by God, and her husband, Dan Tarno, was called to pastor a church, Walnut Springs Bible Baptist Church, and is now the pastor of Grace Bible Fellowship Baptist Church. Cindy is an advocate of mammograms but hated to admit that she let life happen and did not have a mammogram in about three years.

Two rivalries in Van Zandt County were renewed on the football field Sept. 29 as the Edgewood Bulldogs pulled out a thrilling one-point victory over the Grand Saline Indians while the Van Vandals cruised to a win over the Canton Eagles as the results affected the standings in two districts.

It was successful start to the second round of district play for the Edgewood Lady Dogs’ volleyball team Oct. 3 as they rallied to defeat Paris Chism, 3-1, with the final scores of 23-25, 25-21, 25-21, and 25-20.
