davidb@vanzandtnews.com A Notice of Order of Election for the January 30, 2024, special runoff election for the Texas House District 2 state representative seat was approved by the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court during its regular meeting Dec. 20, their final regular meeting scheduled for 2023.

MMHS Robotics Team competes in state competition

susan@vanzandtnews.com The Martins Mill High School Robotics Team went to Fair Park in Dallas November 30 -December 2 to compete again for a state championship. Since 2015, MMHS has been the State Game Champions nine times and the State BEST Champions four times.

Reclassification, enrollment numbers released by UIL

In preparation for the upcoming University Interscholastic League’s District Realignment announcement in February 2024, the UIL released its reclassification high school enrollment numbers Dec. 8 for the 2024-25 and the 2025-26 school years.
