Body Two members of the Edom City Council submitted their resignations during the regular monthly meeting of the council May 14. “The council accepted the resignation of council member Denise Basking with many thanks for her years of service,” said Edom Mayor Barbara Crow.

Taylor finishes second, fifth in state track events

Body Jett Taylor of Grand Saline placed in two different events during the recent Class 3A State Track Meet in Austin. Taylor, who played quarterback in Grand Saline and will be playing college football at Navy, finished in second place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.

Bobbie Lester named Regional Coach of the Year

Body Wills Point High School Girls’Cross Country Coach Bobbie Lester has been named as the Class 4A, Region 3, Girls’ Cross Country Coach of the Year by the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA).
Wills Point High School Girls’ Cross Country Coach Bobbie Lester was recently named as the Class 4A, Region 3, Girls’ Cross Country Coach of the Year. Lester has served as the WPHS Girls’ Cross Country Coach for the past 25 years. She has worked as a teacher and coach at WPHS during her entire professional career.
