VZC road cleanup begins following last year’s storms

ANDY REESE Van Zandt County Judge Van Zandt County experienced significant tree damage from May and June storms last year, downing many trees throughout the county. Road and bridge crews worked to get the trees removed from the roads, tossing them into the ditches to clear the roads for traffic.
Debris cleanup work began on VZCR 2318 following last year’s storms in Van Zandt County. Significant tree damage from the May and June storms in 2024 was reported. Local, state, and federal disasters were declared due to the damage in VZC and many surrounding counties. Courtesy photo

Van Council announces resignation of city manager

Those in attendance at the regular monthly meeting of the Van City Council March 13 received some unexpected news following a closed executive session when it was announced that Van City Manager Mark Campbell had resigned after nearly three months on the job. WP teen killed, alleged intoxicated driver charged

At approximately 2:49 a.m., the Terrell Police Department received a 911 call indicating a crash notification on a cell phone in the area of State Highway 205 and Colquitt Road.

Van ISD Superintendent Don Dunn, Van ISD Director of Operations/Support Services Richard Pride, and Van ISD Director of Business/Support Services Danny Morrow joined the trustees in the discussion.
