Robert Luther Milam II
November 30, 1943- March 7, 2025
Robert Luther Milam II was born in Dallas on November 30, 1943, to Clarence Sidney Milam and Eleanor Faust Milam. He succumbed to an aggressive cancer odyssey which began on February 10 and ended with his death on March 7, 2025.
Although Bob and his wife, Billie, moved to Hideaway from the Canton area, his love and history with this town encompassed most of his life. His father purchased a tract of land from the Veterans land board in 1959. Over many years and changes, it became known as the Milam Family Farm, on Hwy 17. He and Billie built their home there. His kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews all spent time and grew to love the farm as well.
With the kids all grown and scattered and getting a bit older, he found a little piece of heaven and moved to Hideaway, Texas in 2022. While his days were spent taking trips with Billie and friends to faraway places, playing golf with the Duffers, volunteering at the David Powell Food Pantry, his service work at the Hideaway Community Church, and spending time with his closest friend, Joe Burton, he never lost his love of the farm, and his wonderful time spent there.
You did not meet Bob Milam without feeling his special brand of love. A true Texas man that would always find a moment to stop and enjoy whatever he was doing, whoever he was with. Always a smile. A contribution in his name at the Hideaway Community Church where he served with Men in Action would be his preference. Believing that any money would be better used than on flowers. He is gone but impossible to forget. An amazing example of a life well Lived.
