Van Zandt County Republican Club President What a historical win for the Republican Party! It has been touted as the biggest comeback for a presidential candidate in American history! The American people have spoken and rejected the left’s socialist agenda which would have taken our country to a place we have never been before. This election should not have ever been as critical as it was but developed that way due to our own complacency.

The relentless infiltration of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua into the United States represents a dire national security threat and a direct assault on the safety of our citizens. As these criminals establish themselves in major metropolitan centers from New York to Dallas, they bring not just violence but a new challenge to our law enforcement agencies.

City of Van Veterans Day Ceremony.

The late Lawrence O. Greer, distinguished librarian and member of the Van Zandt County Genealogical Society, will be honored at the society’s next monthly meeting at 2 p.m.

Wallace Methodist Church, located at 151 VZCR 2501 in Canton, will host its Annual Pie Auction Saturday, Nov. 23.

Ty Rotan of Edgewood placed 41st out of 149 runners competing recently at the Class 3A State Cross Country Meet. He also ended his season with a personal record with a time of 17:06 at the state meet.

With a winning percentage of 68, Mike Wheeler of Canton is the winner of Football Contest #11 in the Van Zandt News. Wheeler will receive $50 in merchandise coupons redeemable at the participating merchants on the contest pages.

47th annual Heritage Festival.

The Wills Point Community Angel Tree (WPCAT) is a community- wide, annual donation program that provides Christmas gifts for children in families facing financial hardship during the holiday season. This year, the goal of WPCAT is to make sure that each child (from newborns to high school seniors) receives two new outfits with shoes and a coat, and that each family receives a bag of food and a turkey.
