The Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Offi ce released the following arrest report from Apr. 2-Apr.

The seventh annual Jake Wilson Memorial Amateur One-Day Open Bass Team Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, at Lake Fork. The tournament is hosted by Minnow Bucket Marina and is sponsored by Applied Consultants Inc.

Tickets are still available for the annual Canton Texas Chamber of Commerce Gala scheduled for Friday, April 19 at the Canton Civic Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the banquet will begin at 6 p.m.

1965-2024 Charles Brand, born July 25, 1965, to Elmer J. and Dorothy Opal Garret Brand, died April 3, 2024.

There will be a rabies clinic, annual vaccines, and microchipping services offered to the citizens of Van Zandt County (excluding shelters and rescues) by Operation Kindness from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19 at Trade Center #1 on the First Monday Grounds in Canton.
