Tierra Prunty, having been diagnosed with breast Cancer in 2020, was a challenge in itself, but having it during a COVID epidemic made it even more challenging. There wasn’t anyone in the waiting room, holding her hand and no one was therewhen she got out of surgery.

1937-2023 Joyce Faye Hosick, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on Oct. 17, 2023, in her hometown of Wills Point.

Some football teams in Van Zandt County moved closer to a berth in post-season play while others will have to sweat things out over the final two or three regular season games to see where they will be standing at the end of the 2023 campaign.

The Canton Running Eagles hosted the District 16-4A Cross Country Meet on Oct. 10 with the Canton varsity girls finishing third overall and advancing to the regional meet Oct.
