Body Wills Point High School junior Mady Garcia capped a stellar lifting season by winning the Class 4A State Powerlifting Championship in the 259 lb. weight class March 18.

Body The Wills Point Lady Tiger softball program officially hit the most important stretch of their season last week, kicking off District 14-4A play on the road against the Brownsboro Bearettes.

Body The Van Vandals made the trek to White Oak on Tuesday night, continuing their preparations for what is expected to be a sprint to the finish in a crowded District 14-4A race. Van would come up short in the contest, falling victim to two big innings in an 11-6 loss.

Body The Edgewood Lady Dogs started fast and finished strong on Tuesday night, downing chief rival Grand Saline 9-4 at home. Edgewood made it look easy in the early going, lighting up the scoreboard for four runs in the first and two in the second to establish a 6-0 lead.

Body Back the Blue Benefit The Wills Point Police Department is expected to welcome hundreds of visitors to Jack Lester Park June 11 as they host their 7th annual Back the Blue Benefi t.
