Lady Tigers drop district opener

Body The Wills Point Lady Tiger softball program officially hit the most important stretch of their season last week, kicking off District 14-4A play on the road against the Brownsboro Bearettes.

Eaglettes roll past in district opener, 13-1

Body The Canton Eaglettes put together an impressive showing on the diamond last week, opening District 14-4A play with a 13-1 rout of the Van Lady Vandals. The game was never much in doubt as Canton scored runs in all six innings played on their way to victory.

Boone’s big day carries Bulldogs

Body The Edgewood Bulldogs and Grand Saline Indians met up on the diamond for the first time this season on Tuesday night, battling in the District 12-3A opener for both squads.

Body Van High School senior Bo Pipes was joined by family and friends as he signed his letter of intent to compete in archery for Lindsey Wilson College in Kentucky March 11. District officials stated, “We are so proud of him and can’t wait to keep up with his success.

Big innings carry White Oak past Van

Body The Van Vandals made the trek to White Oak on Tuesday night, continuing their preparations for what is expected to be a sprint to the finish in a crowded District 14-4A race. Van would come up short in the contest, falling victim to two big innings in an 11-6 loss.

Lady Dogs get past Grand Saline, 9-4

Body The Edgewood Lady Dogs started fast and finished strong on Tuesday night, downing chief rival Grand Saline 9-4 at home. Edgewood made it look easy in the early going, lighting up the scoreboard for four runs in the first and two in the second to establish a 6-0 lead.
