The Eustace Bulldogs boys’ basketball team hosted the Grand Saline Indians for a nightcap of District 15-3A play at Kirk Gymnasium in Eustace Jan. 6.

The Grand Saline Lady Indians lost a tough 44-41 decision Dec. 19 at Malakoff. The Lady Indians are currently 0-2 in District 15-3A play. Sophomore Maddie Rumfield (22) dribbles the ball up the court and senior Kolbi Phillips drives toward the basket.

The Wills Point Tigers and the Canton Eagles were well represented on the District 6-4A, Division 2, All-District Football Team that was recently released. Coach James Boxley’s Wills Point Tigers concluded their season with a 3-7 overall record and a 1-4 mark in District 6-4A, Division 2, play.

The District 7-4A, Division 2, All-District Football Team released recently includes several members of the Van Vandals. Coach Jared Moffatt’s Vandals finished their 2025 season with an overall record of 7-5, a runner-up finish in District Championship Game.

It’s been a great week, and I’ve been blessed to spend time with fine friends that share my love of the outdoors. For those of us that love to hunt, this is most definitely ‘our’ time of year.

The Canton Eagles saw their remarkable season come to a disappointing close Nov. 21 in the Class 4A, Division 2, Area Championship Game as they lost to the Texarkana Pleasant Grove Hawks, 49-7, in Texarkana.

The unbelievable season for the Edgewood Bulldog varsity football team continues as the Bulldogs held off a late Woodville rally to capture a thrilling 59-56 victory in the Class 3A, Division 2, Area Championship Game Nov. 21 at Rusk.
