Ty Rotan qualifies for state in back-to-back years

Body Ty Rotan of Edgewood is a four-time Regional Qualifier and now a back-to-back state qualifier in cross-country. Rotan finished seventh at the Regional Meet with a time of 16:54.

Van ISD Hall of Fame

Body The 2024-25 Van ISD Faculty and Staff Hall of Fame Inductees were recognized prior to the start of the varsity football game Oct. 17 between the Van Vandals and the Gilmer Buckeyes. The inductees included Kenneth Griffin, Bert Ice, Betty Lewis, Jo Moore, and Tempie White.

Weather forecast forced changes in VZC football schedules

Body davidb@vanzandtnews.com Mother Nature played a role in the Friday, Oct. 24 scheduling for all Van Zandt County football teams as the varsity games were played Thursday, Oct. 23, as heavy rain and lightning was expected to move into the area.
Van Vandal running back Da’Quavion Williams (0) races up the middle on a touchdown run Oct. 17 against the Gilmer Buckeyes. Williams finished with 197 yards rushing on 27 carries and three touchdowns as the Vandals registered an important 48-38 district victory at home.
