Bobcats boost playoff odds with big win

District play was in full swing locally last week with Edgewood, Fruitvale, Grand Saline, Van and Wills Point all in action Oct. 15. County teams acquitted themselves well overall as the Bulldogs, Bobcats, Indians and Vandals all picked up key wins to boost their playoff odds.

Canton Eaglettes build winning streak

The Canton Eaglettes hit the court twice last week, continuing District 14-4A play with matches against both Athens and Wills Point. Canton would notch wins in both matchups, solidifying their position in the top-three of the standings with two games left to play during the regular season.

Tigers outduel Kaufman, advance to Regional Tourney

The Wills Point Tiger tennis team had plenty to play for this week, hitting the court against chief rival Kaufman for an opportunity to advance to the Regional Tournament in Arlington Oct. 21-22.
